Hit and Run Investigation

On November 28th, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of E Green Dr and N Kimball St in Mitchell.  The vehicle that struck the pedestrian left the scene without notifying authorities. At 6:41 PM 9-1-1 emergency dispatch received a call reference the victim lying in the roadway.  Mitchell Police and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene and arrived at 6:43PM.  EMS personnel rendered aid to the victim and transported the victim to the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital for medical attention.  The victim is currently stable and doing well.

Anyone with information about the vehicle and or driver involved in this case is asked to contact the Mitchell Police Department.  The Mitchell Police Department is also asking that anyone who lives in or near the area to please check your video security camera systems for video footage that may assist with this investigation.
