LifeQuest Holds Groundbreaking for Microhome Village

LifeQuest held a groundbreaking for the “My Own Front Door” Microhome Village on Thursday. The Village will feature six one-bedroom, one-bathroom homes for people supported by LifeQuest. The Village will be staffed by LifeQuest employees during waking hours, with remote monitoring technology providing safety during the overnight hours. Construction is scheduled to be completed by summer 2026.

The overall project budget for construction, a maintenance fund and move in expenses are around $2,000,000. To date LifeQuest has raised more than 80% towards its goal. Funds come from local and regional donors, as well as investments from LifeQuest and the LifeQuest Foundation itself.

There are six lead donors to the project: Nancy Ellwein, Mike and  Kim Mohr, James Soper, Dale and Ruth Thomas, Don and Barb Young and Vantage Point Solutions.

Three people supported by LifeQuest have committed to living in homes within the village. LifeQuest will continue to work with the people it supports to fill the remaining homes before construction is completed. People will pay rent and  are expected to take care of their home, from normal housekeeping duties to snow shoveling their front porch.
