Long-time Mitchell School Board member decides against seeking another term

A long-time Mitchell School Board member has decided against seeking another term. Neil Putnam says it’s time to move on. “It’s been an honor to serve the Mitchell School District,” said Putnam. “And I’ve been humbled by the experience and I’m grateful to everyone who has given me the support over my…almost 21 years on the Mitchell school Board.

Monday was the first day for circulating nominating petitions for two seats on the Mitchell School Board. Putnam and Lacey Musick’s terms expire at the end of the fiscal year. Superintendent Joe Graves says incumbent Lacey Musick and Shawn Ruml took out nominating petitions Monday. Ruml is a software support specialist at Innovative Systems.

A Mitchell School Board candidate needs to submit a minimum of 20 valid signatures of Mitchell School District residents to qualify for the ballot. The deadline to submit petition signatures for school board is March 31st.
