Mitchell Police have arrested a man involved in a shooting incident late Wednesday evening. Officers responded to a report of a gunshot shortly after 11pm in the 1300 block of South Ohlman. A description of the suspect and his vehicle led Police to the residence of 34 year old Michael Palmer. Witnesses stated Palmer pointed a handgun at several individuals. Palmer admitted during an interview he’d been involved in a verbal argument but denied he had pointed a pistol at anyone. He admitted firing a pistol into the ground. Police recovered a pistol that was in Palmer’s possession. No one was injured during the incident.
Palmer was arrested for one count of aggravated assault, a Class Three Felony punishable by up to fifteen years in prison and or a $30,000 fine.
