On Friday August 28, 2020 at approximately 1:45 a.m. Mitchell Police Officers were dispatched to a report of an injured male in 200 block of West 2nd Ave. This male ended up being located in the 200 block of West 1 Ave where he was transported to Avera Queen of Peace with life threatening injuries after suffering several stab wounds.
It was later determined that the assault had occurred in the 200 block of West 2nd. Subsequent to the investigation Robert Ladenburger, date of birth 02/22/1961, became a suspect and a search warrant was executed on his residence where articles related to the assault were located. Robert Ladenburger was arrested for Aggravated Assault on the victim.
At no time was the general public in any danger as this appears to be an isolated incident.
Aggravated Assault is a Class 3 Felony, punishable by 15 years imprisonment in the state penitentiary and a $30,000 fine
