Mitchell School Board agrees to administrative salary boost

The Mitchell School Board has approved salaries for administrative positions and other employees not covered by the MEA and MCEA.

Superintendent Joe Childs outlined the salary bump. “On a full-time equivalency basis, the administrators were given a $500 increase, and so were all other salaried employees, same as what the teacher increases are,” Childs said. “We have a few teachers that work for MCTEA for example, that are technically through a Mitchell Tech contract, and so they get the same increase.”

Plus endowed positions through the Roger and Vicki Musick Foundation. “If they’re hourly, ten-cent an hour increase,” Childs continued. “If they’re salaried, it’s a $500 increase based on a full-time equivalency.”

Childs says this year’s increases are modest and not reflective of what’s deserved, but the best that the district could do.
