The Mitchell School Board has once again been recognized for being on top of its game by the Associated School Boards of South Dakota.
Superintendent Joe Childs offered congratulations. “This is the highest recognition you can get, it’s a gold recognition,” said Childs. “I believe for sure, the last three years that I’ve been with you as board members we’ve gotten a gold.”

The award recognizes school boards for their professional development efforts. “It just means that the school board is actively engaged in what they do and not something that they show up here and go through the motions,” he pointed out. They’re actually dedicated to learning everything they can about how schools operate and how Mitchell can be…the premium in how we offer education.”
Childs presented the gold award plaque to the group on behalf of ASBSD.
