Mitchell United Way sets up a COVID relief fund

A Covid-19 Relief Fund has been established by Mitchell United Way in response to the evolving needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This fund will partner with nonprofits in and around the Mitchell area to provide financial support for expenses related to COVID-19 programs.

The United Way is not allowed to directly fund individuals.  Funding is given to 501 C 3 organizations that have expanding services because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mitchell United Way president Pam Olinger says COVID 19 has had many negative economic effects on area residents. “We are blessed to live in generous communities that are so willing to help out as needed,” said Olinger. “The United Way is a great organization to facilitate that since we already work with so many agencies in the community and are a qualified organization for donations.”

She says the United Way board will make sure all funds received are properly distributed to those who need it most by working through all non-profit agencies in our communities.
