Mitchell welcomes its Hometown Heroes

The first wave of Mitchell Hometown Heroes banners has arrived on North Main Street.

Mitchell Main Street and Beyond executive director Elizabeth Luczak is excited to see the project come to life. “The first wave is going to be 39 banners that includes active members from the 665th that is currently deployed from Mitchell, some from the 147th Army Band, and other active duty individuals from the Mitchell area,” said Luczak.

The second wave includes 50 additional banners.

Each banner is 54 inches tall and 24 inches wide and includes the name, photograph of the service member along with their rank and branch of service. “They will be displayed on the decorative green poles that we have surrounding the Corn Palace and Main Street,” Luczak said.
