The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has released the names of those involved in a fatal vehicle/pedestrian accident near Ramona in Lake County last Wednesday.
Around 7:20 pm, the 17 year old male driver of a GMC Sierra was traveling westbound on 223rd Street near the 451st Avenue intersection. At the same time, 70 year old Alan Lavern Anderson from Astoria was working on a Cub Cadet riding lawnmower on 223rd Street after it became separated from his tailgate mounted carrier. The GMC struck the lawnmower and Anderson. Anderson sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the GMC was not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the accident.
