Mitchell Police have released new information regarding the deaths of a man and woman in a room at a local motel. Their bodies were discovered late Monday morning. Lieutenant Don Everson says an autopsy indicates both died of asphyxiation. “It appears that both people had taken their own lives by hanging at that motel room,” said Everson.
He says authorities have a pretty good idea of the man and woman’s identity and are working with law enforcement in Wisconsin. “They’re actively trying to find family members to give death notifications,” Everson said.
Everson says authorities are withholding the two people’s names until family members are notified. So far they’ve been unable to locate family members. He says the investigation is ongoing.
