Operation Repeat Offender achieves its objective

It was a successful joint operation carried out with surgical precision.

That’s how city, state and federal law enforcement described a three-day Homeland Security Taskforce effort carried out in the Sioux Falls area this past week.

Operation Repeat Offender took 35 dangerous offenders off the streets.

U-S Attorney Ron Parsons says it was a dangerous operation…but no law enforcement officers were injured. “I just want to thank God that these officers and agents were able to safely conduct this large-scale operation that will have done a lot to protect us all in this community,” said Parsons.

U-S Marshal Dan Saterlee said there were ten known gang members among those arrested…including two who were armed.

Sioux Falls Police Chief John Thum said the operation is another example of the high level of cooperation between law enforcement agencies in the area.

The operation was not a part of Operation Prairie Thunder.
