Oregon woman arrested for carrying more than 100 lbs of marijuana

A 32 year old woman from Portland Oregon is facing felony drug charges for carrying about 122 pounds of marijuana in her vehicle. According to court documents Trooper Austin Schmitz observed several large boxes in the back of a vehicle with Oregon license plates on I-90 near Chamberlain last Saturday. A short time later at a gas station the driver, later identified as Jasmine Devi Bradford, struck up a conversation with Schmitz who deployed his service dog which indicated the odor of illegal drugs.

A search of the vehicle turned up four large boxes and two small that contained 122 bags of marijuana. Schmitz also found a 9mm pistol which Bradford said belonged to her.

Bradford was arrested for possession of more than ten pounds of marijuana, possession of more than one pound of marijuana with intent to distribute, committing a felony with a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. She’s being held in the Brule County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
