Several area counties show significant bumps in COVID-19 cases

New numbers from the South Dakota Health Department are indicating significant increases in COVID-19 cases in several area counties. Aurora County cases have risen by five to eight total with two recovered and 60 negative tests. State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says the department is investigating. “The determination of whether or not they’re community spread will likely be reflected in tomorrow’s (Thursday) update,” said Clayton.

Beadle county is reporting 25 new cases boosting its total to 68. The health department confirmed cases at Dakota Provisions plant but the number is less than 10. Jerauld county has gone up from six cases to ten. Sanborn County added one new case bringing its total to seven with three recovered and 47 negative tests.

Davison County remains at 9 cases with seven recovered and 441 negative tests.
