Large fuel spill closes I-90 near Reliance early Monday morning

Between 7,000 and 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel spilled following an early Monday morning crash on I-90 near Reliance. The Department of Public Safety says a westbound semi towing a tanker trailer and pup tank trailer entered the median. The driver, 39 year old Ryan Budahl of Emery, over-corrected and rolled. The pup tanker broke away and stayed in the median. The semi and tanker trailer rolled on to the driver side and blocked the west bound lanes of I-90.  The Interstate was blocked from approximately 5:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Budahl wasn’t wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. He was the only occupant. Charges are pending. Several state and local agencies were involved
