South Dakotans should get ready for the long haul with the COVID-19 virus

Get ready for a long battle with the COVID-19 virus. Governor Kristi Noem told South Dakotans during a Facebook live Sunday afternoon we’re just getting started. “This is not something that’s going to be over in a week or two,” Noem said. “In fact all of the studies and modeling that we’re looking at, looks like we’ll peak in May.”

However the COVID-19 affects will remain after that. “We will in June, July, August, still be watching this trend going through the state of South Dakota,” the Governor said.

Noem said this is why it’s important to “flatten the curve” so the state can ease the impact.

Earlier Sunday Noem announced seven new COVID-19 infections including six in Beadle County and one in Brown County.
