The South Dakota Department of Corrections is reporting State prison offender Latoya Shangreaux has been placed on escape status. Shangreaux failed to return to the Pierre Minimum Center overnight from her work release job site.

The 37 year old Shangreaux is a Native American female. She is five-foot-six inches tall and weighs 205 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and visible neck tattoos.
Shangreaux is serving sentences for possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear from Minnehaha County.
If anyone sees Shangreaux or knows of her whereabouts, please contact law enforcement immediately.
Failure to return to custody following an assignment constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Any person who conceals any prisoner knowing that the prisoner has escaped is guilty of a Class 5 felony.
