Students commit to a career in education

Six graduating Mitchell High School seniors put pen to paper Wednesday by signing letters of intent to become teachers.

Dailyn Kiner, Robin Roth, Kambyl Wede, Lillian Smith, Jordan Platt and Alyvia Herman shared where they plan to attend college as they begin their journey to becoming educators.

High school English teacher Leslie Rylance is advisor of the Educators Rising program. “And I look at you guys, I think you would all be great additions to whatever school district you choose to pursue,” Rylance told the group. “And hopefully we see you back in black and gold someday,” Rylance smiled.

High School Principal Justin Siemsen offered his congratulations. “When young people make the noble decision to pursue a career in education, it is a day worth celebrating,” said Siemsen. “You should all take a moment to reflect on this wonderful decision and be proud.”

Mitchell High School graduation is set for Sunday, May 24th.
