A 30-year old man from Sioux Falls is being held on kidnapping and assault charges.
Sgt. Aaron Benson says Taylor Winedar is accused of holding a woman captive in an apartment and assaulting her numerous times – holding her hostage for more than a week. “Further investigation revealed that the victim had been held against their will by the suspect in the apartment since July 31st,” Benson said. “The suspect had broken the victim’s phone and prevented them from leaving the apartment as well as strangling them, holding a knife to their throat while they’re being kept in the apartment as well.”
Winedar barricaded himself in the apartment for several hours before surrendering to police.
