Two Mitchell businesses honored for employing people with disabilities

The 2020 Governor’s Awards were presented Tuesday to seven individuals and businesses across the state to recognize their contributions toward the rehabilitation and employment of people with disabilities.

Governor Kristi Noem presented the award for Outstanding Private Employer in the large employer category to Boyd’s Gunstocks of Mitchell. “Over the past 10 years, Boyds has employed over 25 individuals with disabilities,” said Noem. “They surpassed their goal of having at least 10% of their workforce be employees with disabilities.”

The Mitchell School District’s Food Service was honored as well for employing people with disabilities.
