Class A State Volleyball Tournament – Saturday, November 22 in Rapid City
No. 7 Rapid City Christian 3, No. 8 Wagner 0, (25-16, 25-14, 25-12) – 7th Place
RCC’s attack was led by Chloe Weber with 13 kills, followed by Faith King with eight kills and Miley Johnson with seven. Faith King also set the offense in motion with 19 assists, while Chloe Weber added nine assists. At the service line, the Comets had 18 aces, including five from Weber, four from Maddie Altstiel, and three each from King and Paisley Griffith. Weber and Griffith also led the defensive effort with eight and seven digs, respectively. Wagner was paced by Brylie Link’s five kills, Braxton Nedved’s four kills, and Adara Holzbauer’s two aces. Nedved also handed out 13 assists.
No. 4 Clark/Willow Lake 3, No. 6 St. Thomas More (27-25, 26-24, 12-25, 25-23) – 5th Place
Clark/Willow Lake was led by Shelby Begeman’s 19 kills, Kelsey Hofer’s 12, and Eliza Larson’s nine. Setter Zoe Nichols ran the offense with 37 assists and added three aces. Defensively, Kadee Frankfurth collected 21 digs, while Hofer added 18 and Zoey Helkenn finished with 10. St. Thomas More countered with big performances of its own. Leighton Scherr hammered 19 kills, while Madison Boyum and Kesley Benda each added nine. Enna Henry dished out 44 assists, and STM picked up 91 digs, led by Kaitlin Strain (23) and Benda (17).
No. 3 Sioux Falls Christian 3, No. 5 Hamlin 0, (25-19, 25-15, 25-18) – 3rd Place
The Chargers were led by Tavyn Sichmeller’s 12 kills and 12 digs, Camdyn Mulder’s nine kills, and Jayla Overman’s nine kills. Setter Meredith Nelson controlled the match with 35 assists, four aces and six digs, while Jasmine Vander Haar added 18 digs in the back row. Hamlin was paced by Addelyn Jensen with 10 kills, Addison Neuendorf and Jade Thue with eight kills each, and setter Issie Steffensen’s 26 assists. Neuendorf also added 20 digs and two aces.
