No. 4 Ethan 48, No. 6 Harding County 39 – State Championship
Ethan used a dominant third quarter to pull away and defeat Harding County 48-39 in the Class B Girls State Championship on Saturday at First Bank & Trust Arena.
The victory gives Ethan its second Class B state championship, and first since 2015.
Harding County started strong, knocking down three early three-pointers to take an 11-8 lead after the first quarter. The Ranchers continued to battle in the second period and trailed just 19-18 at halftime after a late basket from Brayden Padden.
Ethan took control after the break.
The Rustlers held Harding County to just one point in the third quarter, turning a one-point halftime lead into a 31-19 advantage entering the fourth. Taziah Hawkins and Rachel Klock each hit three-pointers during the run, while the Ethan defense forced multiple turnovers and limited Harding County to 0-for-8 shooting in the period.
Marissa Storm led Ethan with 20 points, including three three-pointers, while going 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. Hawkins added 10 points and five assists, and Klock finished with eight points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Harding County attempted to rally in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points in the period behind Raelee Hunsucker, who led the Ranchers with 11 points and three three-pointers. Sattayn Wilson added six points, while Macey Wendt and Kamry Padden each finished with five points.
Despite the late push, Ethan maintained a double-digit lead for most of the final quarter and sealed the victory at the free-throw line.
The Rustlers finished 13-of-17 from the line compared to Harding County’s 4-of-10, while also holding a 36-32 rebounding edge.
With the win, Ethan capped its postseason run by returning to the top of Class B for the first time in more than a decade.

No. 8 Corsica-Stickney 65, No. 2 Parkston 58 (OT) – Third Place
Corsica-Stickney erased a 10-point second-half deficit and outscored Parkston in overtime to secure a 65-58 victory for third place in the Class B state tournament on Saturday.
Parkston controlled much of the game early. The Trojans led 27-22 at halftime and stretched the advantage to 47-37 after the third quarter behind strong outside shooting and balanced scoring.
Morgan Maxwell led Parkston with 17 points, hitting 3-of-5 from three-point range, while Berkley Ziebart added 16 points with four three-pointers. KeeAra Oakley also scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Trojans.
Corsica-Stickney stormed back in the fourth quarter.
The Jaguars outscored Parkston 17-7 in the period, fueled by Hadynn Johnson, who finished with a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds, and Braylee Bordewyk, who added 18 points and 13 rebounds.
A three-pointer by Johnson with 2:49 remaining gave Corsica-Stickney its first lead of the game at 52-51. Parkston responded late when Ziebart knocked down a clutch three-pointer with 50 seconds left to tie the game 54-54 and force overtime.
In the extra period, Corsica-Stickney pulled away.
Johnson and Bordewyk scored early baskets to give the Jaguars the lead, and Remi Nelson buried a three-pointer with 1:37 remaining to push the margin to six. Corsica-Stickney sealed the win at the free-throw line in the final seconds.
Nelson finished with nine points, while Sophie DeLange added 13 points and four assists for the Jaguars.
Corsica-Stickney shot 44% from the field and dominated inside with 28 points in the paint, helping the Jaguars complete the comeback victory.

No. 3 Bennett County 58, No. 1 Lyman 47 – Fifth Place
Bennett County jumped out to a commanding first-quarter lead and maintained control the rest of the way to defeat Lyman 58-47 on Saturday.
The Warriors dominated early, holding Lyman to just four first-quarter points while building an 18-4 advantage. Bennett County continued the momentum in the second quarter, extending the lead to 35-16 at halftime.
Peyson O’Neill led Bennett County with 21 points and 10 rebounds, hitting 8-of-16 shots and knocking down three three-pointers. Reagan O’Neill added 12 points and nine rebounds, while Harley Harris also scored 12 points, including two three-pointers.
Madi Waln contributed seven points and six rebounds, and Raven Heathershaw added three points and four rebounds off the bench.
Bennett County’s defense set the tone early, forcing multiple turnovers that turned into quick points during the opening quarter. The Warriors scored 20 points off turnovers in the game.
Lyman was led by Jordyn Scott, who finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Mak Scott added 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Raiders.
Despite trailing by double digits most of the game, Lyman made a push in the fourth quarter. Jordyn Scott hit three three-pointers in the period to help the Raiders cut the deficit to 45-35 and later within 10 points with just under two minutes remaining.
But Bennett County answered late baskets from Harris and Peyson O’Neill to hold off the rally and secure the win.
The Warriors finished with a 42-34 rebounding advantage and hit 10 three-pointers, helping seal the 11-point victory.

No. 7 Centerville 53, No. 5 Colman-Egan 46 11 am – Seventh Place
Centerville used a strong third quarter and a big performance from Izzie Eide to defeat Colman-Egan 53-46 on Saturday.
Eide led Centerville with 26 points and nine rebounds, hitting 10-of-23 shots and knocking down three three-pointers to pace the offense. Brea Austin added 13 points, including 6-of-8 shooting at the free-throw line, while Lydia Austin chipped in five points and six rebounds.
Colman-Egan started strong, taking a 19-16 lead after the first quarter behind early scoring from Quinn Meyer and Jolie Flatter, along with a late three-pointer by Anya Hemmer.
Centerville responded in the second quarter behind Eide, who scored eight points in the period as the Tornadoes outscored Colman-Egan 12-6 to take a 28-25 halftime lead.
The Tornadoes created separation in the third quarter. A three-pointer by Lydia Austin and several inside baskets from Eide helped push the lead to double digits. Centerville outscored Colman-Egan 15-10 in the quarter to take a 43-35 advantage into the final period.
Colman-Egan tried to rally late in the fourth quarter. Brynlee Landis scored inside twice to cut the deficit to five, and Meyer later trimmed the lead to 49-47 with 24 seconds remaining.
But Centerville sealed the game at the free-throw line. Brea Austin made four straight free throws in the final 21 seconds to secure the victory.
Colman-Egan was led by Landis with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Meyer added 11 points and Flatter finished with 10 points.
Centerville finished with a 35-37 rebounding edge and forced 16 turnovers, helping the Tornadoes secure the seven-point win.
