DWU Men’s Golfers Take First & Second Place at Mount Marty Invitational, Team Places Fourth Overall

YANKTON, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men’s Golf had an outstanding showing at the 2025 Mount Marty Men’s Invitational, which took place over two days in the southeastern corner of the state. 

Individually, the Tigers would have a historic showing as Connor Calahan and Dakota Munger would claim first and second place out of 74 official contestants. Calahan would be the tournament’s only golfer to finish under par with a final tally of 141 (-3) with an impressive mark of 69 (-3) in the second round, while Munger’s best round would occur on day one by recording a 71 (-1).

Peyton Bettcher would be the team’s third-place individual performer, finishing two rounds with a score of 155 (+11) following a strong second day. Benjamin Wilber and Jack Olson would finish within one stroke of each other with final scores of 160 (+16) and 161 (+17), respectively.

True freshman Will Jarding would round out the lineup for the Tigers with a ten-stroke improvement between rounds one and two, finishing with a score of 178 (+34). 

As a team, the Tigers would claim fourth place out of 14 total groups with a total score of 600 (+24). The group would be just 15 strokes out of first place, finishing just behind Morningside, Northeast Community College, and Doane.
