MITCHELL, S.D. — The Mitchell Kernels are back on the field and court and KORN News Radio is taking listeners along for the ride.
KORN News Radio FM 101.3/AM 1490 and KORNRadio.com will provide live, local coverage of every Mitchell football game during the 2026 season, with Sports Director Travis Kriens at every game, home and away. That includes the Kernels’ remaining road games at Aberdeen Central, Watertown, Tea Area and Huron.
“With the ever-changing landscape of local media, we pride ourselves on providing the best and most extensive coverage of the Mitchell Kernels in the area,” Kriens said. “Whether the Kernels are at home or on the road, we promise to always provide that live and local coverage the the Mitchell community deserves.”
KORN is also bringing Mitchell volleyball to the radio as the only local radio station broadcasting Kernel volleyball.
Upcoming volleyball broadcasts include Thursday’s home match against Sioux Falls Washington, the Sept. 24 match against Sioux Falls Roosevelt, Sept. 29 at Sioux Falls Jefferson, Oct. 1 against Pierre, Oct. 3 against Spearfish, Oct. 13 against Sioux Falls Lincoln, Oct. 20 against Aberdeen Central and Nov. 3 at O’Gorman.
KORN’s volleyball coverage will also extend into the postseason, with broadcasts of the Class AA SoDak 16 and the Class AA State Tournament in Sioux Falls.
For Kernels fans, the schedule is about more than simply turning on a broadcast. It’s about knowing that when Mitchell plays, KORN is there.
