
Wagner senior Ashlyn Koupal put together another historic season, earning South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association Class A Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive year while leading a loaded all-state first team.
Koupal, a 6-foot-3 senior, dominated on both ends of the floor, averaging 28.3 points, 14 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while recording 82 blocks. She finished with 565 total points and shot nearly 59% from the field, cementing her place as one of the state’s most complete players. The Nebraska recruit and McDonald’s All-American ends her career with 2,610 points, 1,210 rebounds, 463 assists, 383 blocks and 253 steals.
She is joined on the first team by Mahpiya Luta senior Ashlan Carlow-Blount, Hamlin senior Addison Neuendorf, Vermillion sophomore Taylor Reuvers, Sioux Falls Christian junior Lezlei Setzer and Mobridge-Pollock senior Blake Thompson.
Carlow-Blount filled the stat sheet with 17.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while piling up 99 steals. Neuendorf averaged 16.6 points and 5.6 assists, while Reuvers emerged as one of the state’s top scorers at 27.8 points per game to go along with 114 steals.
Setzer provided a dominant interior presence with 17.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 49 blocks, while Thompson added 20.2 points per game and 66 steals for Mobridge-Pollock.
The second team features high-level scoring and versatility, led by Beresford senior Ella Merriman, who topped all Class A players with 28.7 points per game. Lakota Tech eighth-grader Amelia Shangreaux added 21.1 points and 101 steals, while West Central sophomore Kacey Jaton (18.3 ppg) and Dell Rapids sophomore Rorie Thoreson (18 ppg) provided perimeter firepower.
Sioux Valley junior Kailey Cradduck (15.5 points, 8.6 rebounds) and Flandreau sophomore Morgan Sheppard (17.4 points, 9 rebounds) rounded out the second team.
Lakota Tech sophomore Lizzie Robinson headlines the third team after averaging 19.5 points, eight rebounds and 4.2 assists. She is joined by Dakota Valley sophomore Aubree Worden, Hamlin junior Issie Steffensen, Lennox senior Andie Peters, Mahpiya Luta senior Shania Ferguson and Milbank sophomore Belle Pauli, who averaged a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The honorable mention list includes a mix of rising young talent and experienced contributors, highlighted by Canton eighth-grader Mya Anderson (17.1 ppg) and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte junior Suni Bowman, who averaged 11.1 rebounds per game.
Several players earned repeat recognition across multiple seasons. Koupal, Carlow-Blount, Neuendorf and Reuvers were all first-team selections in 2025, while Thompson and Cradduck moved up after prior third-team honors. Sheppard, Worden and Bowman also returned to the list after previous honorable mention selections.
