
Arlington senior Jaelyn Huntimer capped a standout career by being named the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association Class B Player of the Year, leading the 2026 all-state first team.
Huntimer averaged 28.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while adding 77 steals, finishing her career with 1,891 points. She headlines a first team that features a blend of elite scorers and versatile playmakers from across the state.
Joining Huntimer on the first team are Colman-Egan senior Brynlee Landis, Bennett County freshman Peyson O’Neill, Centerville sophomore Izzie Eide, Lyman sophomore Jordyn Scott and Lyman senior Mak Scott.
Landis averaged 20.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists, while O’Neill made an immediate impact as a freshman with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists per game. Eide added 20 points per game and 73 steals, and Jordyn Scott contributed 18.3 points and 3.3 assists.
Mak Scott rounded out the first team with 15.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3 assists, helping Lyman place two players among the state’s top six.
The second team includes Ethan senior Marissa Storm, De Smet senior Hazel Luethmers, Bennett County sophomore Reagan O’Neill, Corsica-Stickney junior Braylee Bordewyk, Waubay-Summit junior Addison Heinje and Sanborn Central/Woonsocket senior Liz Boschee.
Luethmers led the group with 22.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, while Bordewyk added 19 points and 4.2 assists. Heinje averaged nearly a double-double with 19.8 points and 10.1 rebounds, and Boschee contributed 10.5 rebounds along with 79 steals and 39 blocks.
The third team features Ethan senior Taziah Hawkins, Parkston juniors Keeara Oakley and Berkley Ziebart, Chester junior Jacy Wolf, Freeman junior Rylie Peters and Highmore-Harrold sophomore Jada Baloun.
Wolf stood out as a playmaker with 16.2 points and 4.4 assists per game, while Peters added 16.6 points and 85 steals. Baloun provided a strong inside presence with 17.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 42 blocks.
The honorable mention list includes Harding County sophomore Kamryn Padden, who recorded 128 steals, along with North Central senior Amree Vander Vorst, Bridgewater-Emery junior Oakley Weber, Chester senior Emmerson Eppard, Philip senior Drew Terkildsen and Avon junior Rilyn Thury.
Several players earned repeat recognition across multiple seasons, highlighting the depth of Class B talent. Huntimer and Mak Scott were first-team selections in 2025, while Landis, Peyson O’Neill and Eide moved up from second team. Others, including Bordewyk, Peters and Vander Vorst, also returned after prior honorable mention honors.
