The Mitchell Kernel girls golf team closed out their regular season on Tuesday by breaking the team scoring record at Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre.
Mitchell won the team title with a score of 306, breaking the previous school record of 310 set in the first meet of the season. The Kernels have now won five straight team titles.
Allison Meyerink and Maddie Childs tied for first overall with a round of 72 (E).
Rapid City Stevens was second in the four team field, 13 shots behind, followed by Aberdeen Central and Pierre.
Meyerink birdied her first two holes, before an eagle at the par-5 fifth.
Mitchell’s Quinn Dannenbring placed sixth overall with a 79.
The Kernels return to Pierre next week for the Class AA state meet on June 5-6.
