MITCHELL, S.D. — Mitchell senior setter Addie Siemsen has been named to the All-Eastern South Dakota Conference (ESD) volleyball team, while senior outside hitter Audrey Miller earned honorable mention recognition for the Kernels.
Siemsen, one of the most complete players in Class AA this season, has been a steady force for a Mitchell team that finished the regular season 15-8 and enters the postseason as the No. 8 seed in the SoDAK 16. The four-year varsity contributor led the Kernels with 543 assists this fall and surpassed the 1,000 career assist milestone earlier this season in a road match at Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
Known for her consistency and versatility, Siemsen ranked second on the team in several key statistical categories: 170 kills, 46 aces, 70 blocks, and 231 digs. Her all-around production and leadership helped Mitchell secure its best record since 2018, the program’s last state tournament appearance.
Joining Siemsen on the ESD honors list, Miller earned honorable mention after leading the Kernels with 198 kills this season. The senior outside hitter was a go-to scorer who provided power and consistency in the front row.
Both seniors have been instrumental in Mitchell’s turnaround from 3-20 last season to a top-eight seed in 2025. The Kernels will look to continue their resurgence Thursday night when they host No. 9 Spearfish in the Class AA SoDAK 16, with a trip to the state tournament in Rapid City on the line.
