Parkston and Bennett County Set for Clash in Class B State Volleyball Quarterfinals

Parkston (30-6) and Bennett County (36-5) face off in the Class B state volleyball quarterfinals Thursday afternoon in Rapid City.

Parkston’s leading attackers—Finley Bogenreif, Kendall Herrmann, and Berkley Ziebart—have all played 110 sets this season and combined for over 800 kills, with Ziebart leading the group at 277 kills and a hitting percentage above .250.

Keeara Oakley and Addison Koehn contribute significantly on both offense and defense, with Oakley totaling 103 blocks and Koehn adding 57 solo blocks and 47 assists. Parkston’s overall team hitting efficiency hovers around .250, with a collective block total exceeding 180.

Bennett County counters with a balanced attack anchored by Harley Harris, Peyson O’Neill, and Reagan O’Neill, each logging 109 sets and combining for more than 1,000 kills. Harris leads Bennett County’s hitters with 331 kills and a hitting percentage near .290, while Reagan O’Neill contributes 585 kills and a .253 hitting percentage.

The team shows strong net defense, averaging nearly 30 total blocks per match, with Rylee Hicks and Macy Claussen adding depth in both blocking and hitting. Bennett County’s serve rating is solid across the lineup, particularly with Harris (2.13) and Peyson O’Neill (2.21) consistently putting pressure on opponents.

Both teams demonstrate balanced scoring and reliable net defense, making for an evenly matched contest. Key factors will be the efficiency of Parkston’s front line against Bennett County’s blocking, as well as each team’s ability to maintain low error rates on serve receive and transition.

The quarterfinal match begins at 1:45 PM CST on Thursday, November 20, at the Summit Arena in Rapid City.
