SDSU Volleyball Looks to End Summit League Play Undefeated vs. North Dakota

South Dakota State hosts North Dakota for the final match of the regular season Tuesday night at First Bank & Trust Arena. With the regular season title and the No. 1 seed for next week’s Summit League tournament locked up, the Jackrabbits are playing for the distinction of an unbeaten conference season and a Senior Day victory.

KEY STORYLINES

• The Jackrabbits enter the final regular season match with a 21-3 overall record and 15-0 Summit League record.
• South Dakota State looks to be the first unbeaten team in conference matches since South Dakota achieved the feat in 2019. Should the Jackrabbits win Tuesday night, they would be the 11th team in Summit League history to go unbeaten in the conference regular season.
• SDSU will celebrate its four seniors, along with their graduating graduate assistant, Karly Berkland, ahead of Tuesday night’s match.
• The Jackrabbits clinched the conference regular season title outright and will be the No. 1 seed at the Summit League tournament at FIrst Bank & Trust Arena starting Sunday.
• SDSU is rated 26th in the latest RPI rankings and is the No. 5 non-power-conference team.
• Sydni Schetnan is the reigning Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, taking over for Madison Burr who won the week prior. Schetnan led the league with 2.63 blocks per set last week and had 11 block assists at St. Thomas, setting a new program record for a four-set match.
• Sylvie Zgonc continues to lead the Summit League in kills per set (4.39) and points per set (4.89) against conference opponents.
• The SDSU defense ranks third in the country in blocks per set (3.09) and eighth in opponent hitting percentage (.152). Sydni Schetnan is 16th individually at 1.47 blocks per set.
• After Zgonc, Madison Burr (2.47) and Hannah Klein (2.33) also notch more than 2.0 kills per set overall.
• In conference games, Rylee Martin dishes 10.61 assists per set, which is first in the Summit League.
