Three undefeated teams highlight the 16 team field in this year’s Class 11B playoffs.
No. 1 Winner, No. 2 Deuel and No. 3 Sioux Valley all finished the regular season with 8-0 records.
The 2022 state champion, Elk Point-Jefferson, enters the playoffs as the No. 4 seed with a 7-1 record, with their only loss coming to Sioux Valley, 20-11, on September 1.
The No. 7 vs. No. 10 matchup will be a rematch of the regular season finale between Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central and Rapid City Christian. W/WS/SC lost 7-0 on Friday in wet field conditions in Wessington Springs.
In a rematch of a first round game from last year, No. 11 Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan will again have to travel to take on No. 6 Hot Springs. The Seahawks lost last year 45-6.
First round action starts on Thursday, October 19.
