
Brant Wassenaar of Sioux Falls Christian was named Player of the Year as the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2025-26 Class A All-State boys basketball teams.
The first team features six standout performers, including Wassenaar, a 6-foot-4 junior guard who averaged 22.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.
He is joined by Marvin Richard III of Pine Ridge (30.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 5.5 apg, 92 steals), Connor Mebius of West Central (17.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.6 apg), Trey Hansen of Vermillion (25.9 ppg, 8 rpg, 6.1 apg, 68 steals), Jackson Wadsworth of Hamlin (21.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 4.4 apg) and sophomore forward Sully Felberg of Clark-Willow Lake (15.6 ppg, 7 rpg, 2.3 apg).
The second team includes senior Will Kuhl of West Central, senior Wyatt Gylten of St. Thomas More, senior Ryder Johnson of Groton Area, senior Riley Casey of Little Wound, junior Boden Stevenson of Hamlin and senior Tatum Sorensen of Dakota Valley.
Third-team selections are Eddie Duffy of Stanley County, Tate Gerdes and Aiden Hanssen of Lennox, Chris Bevers of Clark-Willow Lake, Zane Messick of Hill City and Cooper Goodbary of Sioux Falls Christian.
Honorable mention honorees include Luke Sheppard, Damien Clown, Carter Craven, Brady Hiltunen, Levi Elk Nation, Isaak Hunter and Paxton Deal.
Several players earned repeat recognition from previous seasons, including Wassenaar and Richard on the first team.
