Week 10: GPAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women’s basketball players-of-the-week for contests played January 13-19, 2026. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-2026 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Offensive – Gracie Schoonhoven, Dordt University (Forward)

Gracie Schoonhoven of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week.  Schoonhoven, a junior from Hospers, Iowa, converted on 76 percent of her field goal attempts in a pair of wins. She filled the stat sheet with 30 points in Saturday’s win over Doane, the third time this season she has scored 30 or more.

           

Defensive – Avery Broughton, Dakota Wesleyan University (Guard)

Avery Broughton of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball defensive player-of-the-week.  Broughton, a junior from Corsica, South Dakota, recorded six rebounds and five blocks in a win against the Waldorf Warriors, which falls just one block shy of tying the single-game program record. She also exploded for 23 points, nine rebounds, four steals, three assists, and a block in a win against the No. 10 Concordia Bulldogs.
