56 percent of winter wheat rated good to excellent

The USDA’s first National Crop Progress report for 2019 shows 56 percent of the Winter Wheat crop is in good to excellent condition. The rating is 24 percent higher than year-ago levels.  There is a wide swing in conditions ratings with 100 percent of California’s crop in good to excellent condition compared to 28 percent in Oklahoma’s.   

Soil

moisture across much of the country is listed as adequate to surplus.

The

USDA expects to have the first planting pace updates for corn, spring wheat,

and sugarbeets in next week’s report.
