Farm Credit Illinois reminds beginning farmers of the
opportunities available through the FreshRoots lending assistance program.
Andrew Alton is the Vice President of Lending at their office in Sherman.
“There are a lot higher barriers to entry today than there was in the prior generations for young farmers to enter the industry.”
He tells Brownfield nearly 100 farmers are enrolled in the FreshRoots program, which offers relaxed loan standards and lower interest rates as well as educational incentives.
