A good week for planting in northeast Iowa

A northeast Iowa farmer says it’s been a good week for planting in his area. “There’s been a lot of corn put in the ground, and some beans, from Monday on through today,” says Mark Recker, who farms near Arlington, Iowa. “But as the day goes on and the weekend goes on, it looks like pretty big systems coming through and we’re all in store for quite a bit of water, unfortunately.” Recker says corn he planted on April 24th and 25th is just starting to emerge.
