Nebraska Corn supports NCGA’s ‘penny won’t cut it’ push

Image courtesy NCGA The president of the Nebraska Corn Growers Association says his group supports the National Corn Growers’ “A Penny Won’t Cut It” campaign. Dan Nerud says if there’s another round of trade mitigation payments, corn farmers should receive more than last year’s one cent per bushel. “We want trade, not aid,” Nerud says. “But if there is going to be a package, we’re emphasizing that a penny is almost an insult.” Nerud says while most farmers supported President Trump’s efforts to address trade issues with China, they didn’t expect it to drag on this long.
