Wet, cool weather has slowed fieldwork going back to last fall and has led to extended planting delays in many key growing areas of the Corn Belt. With insurance dates quickly approaching, producers are having to consider some difficult choices. Kent Thiesse, a farm management analyst in south-central Minnesota, says there are few options this late in the game.
