The massive gift shop on the Corn Palace floor is open for the 2019 summer season. Manager Nick Bakhitari says new this year is a Cornelius figurine. “Because the number one picture that’s taken is with the Cornelius statue, Bakhtiari said. “We wanted to be able to have something that people could bring home with them.”
He says the gift shop is also rolling out new t-shirt designs along with other unique items.
Bakhtiari says the operation employs around 25 people during the tourism season staffing the gift shop, giving tours and manning the information desk. “We’re ready to go and excited to get started,” said Bakhtiari.
Summer hours are 8 am to 9 pm seven days a week.
