Alexandria Residents Urged to Restrict Water Usage After Water Main Break

ALEXANDRIA, S.D. — Residents in Alexandria are experiencing low water pressure and are being urged to conserve water following a water main break that drained the city’s water tower, local officials announced.

The Hanson County Sheriff’s Office reported that the city has temporarily switched its supply to a rural water system while crews work to fix the break.

Municipal officials have requested that all residents strictly limit their water usage until repairs are fully completed and the system is stabilized. A timeline for the completion of the repairs has not yet been released.
