Father Pleads Guilty in Death of Infant Son in Sioux Falls

Dylan Castimore, a 24-year-old man from Sioux Falls, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and child abuse in the death of his 8-week-old son, Daxton Castimore.

The infant suffered fatal injuries while left alone with his father, including skull fractures, bruising, and broken bones.

Castimore faces a minimum of 65 years in prison, with the state seeking a life sentence.

The plea deal was supported by the baby’s mother, Crislyn Gregory, who wants Castimore to receive life in prison.

The case’s evidence, including surveillance video and forensic findings, was described as overwhelming and disturbing by prosecutors.
