MITCHELL, S.D. — The Mitchell Area Council of the Arts has concluded its third annual summer concert series, ending the season with a performance by Chris Miller at Bradley’s.
Organizers said this year’s series expanded beyond its traditional format by becoming a traveling concert series and adding evening performances.
Bradley’s hosted and sponsored the season finale, which also included a fundraising event. Additional sponsors included The Diamond Store, Culver’s and the Moose Lodge.
The arts council said the series was created to provide family-friendly entertainment, support downtown Mitchell businesses and parks, and offer more performance opportunities for local and regional musicians.
The organization credited community support for helping expand its programming, including the free Creation Station art activity at the Mitchell Farmers Market, the Creative Way mural wall, free summer and winter concert series, art programming at the Mitchell Recreation Center, and free community art days at the Moose Lodge and the Mitchell Public Library.
