University of South Dakota Employee Faces Federal and State Child Pornography Charges

Nicholas Keitges, a 32-year-old man employed at the University of South Dakota, is facing both state and federal child pornography charges.

In federal court, he is charged with attempting to create, receive, and possess child pornography, pleading not guilty.

Additionally, Keitges faces similar charges in Clay County, where he entered not-guilty pleas as well.

According to court documents, he claimed to search for child pornography on various apps with the intent to report it to Electronic Services Providers and not for personal pleasure.

Keitges worked at the Muenster University Center for about a year, hired by a food services and facilities management company.
