Davison County is making it easier, safer, and secure for residents to cast absentee ballots for the June 2nd election during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Auditor Susan Kiepke says her office has installed a secure, metal box in front of the Court House on East Fourth Avenue. “Curbside drop off so it will be handicap-accessible,” said Kiepke. “We had the box custom made.”
It’s secured to the concrete at the bottom of the courthouse steps. “There will be signs in front, ‘no parking’, and there will be an area where people can just drive up and drop off their absentee ballots,” Kiepke said.
Kiepke is still encouraging voters to send their absentee ballots by mail or drop them off at the new box. “We as auditors are trying to do everything we can to protect the public, ourselves and our employees,” she said.
