Governor Kristi Noem is asking South Dakotans to be alert today for additional state guidelines regarding the spreading COVID-19 virus.
The Governor’s news conference has been moved to 2 pm (CDT) to discuss developments surrounding the coronavirus.

She issued the request during a Facebook live session Saturday. “We’re going to have some directions for the state of South Dakota and I want you to be paying attention to that,” said Noem. “Because it’s going to be incredibly important that you’re listening and that we all are on the same page for actions we’re going to be taking in the coming weeks.”
The Governor offered a couple of hints. “Especially as it relates to those that are elderly or have some compromised health conditions,” she said. “And then beyond that specifically targeted areas. We all know communities that are struggling.”
As of noon Monday there are 288 positive COVID-19 infections statewide, resulting in 23 hospitalizations, 4 deaths, 91 recovered and 5,732 testing negative. The two new deaths are from Beadle and Minnehaha counties.
Davison County remains at three cases with two recovered.
