The South Dakota Department of Public Safety is reporting two people died early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on I-90 near Bridgewater.
Around 1:20 am, a 53 year old male from Pacolet, South Carolina was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Interstate 90 near mile marker 354. At the same time, a 30 year old male from Brooklyn, New York was driving a Volvo semi-truck that was also traveling westbound at the same location. The Volvo collided with the back of the Harley-Davidson. The driver and the 47 year old female passenger of the Harley-Davidson sustained fatal injuries. Neither of the motorcycle occupants were wearing helmets. The driver of the semi was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Names of the those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
