Sanborn County authorities are searching for a man who’s been missing since around 7:30 Thursday night.
Sanborn County Sheriff Tom Fridley says Eugene Prins family contacted his office to report Prins was missing. Fridley says Prins was last seen at his farmhouse located east and south of Woonsocket.
Fridley says it’s believed Prins was heading south when searchers lost his tracks. Davison County Search and Rescue, a South Dakota Highway Patrol aircraft and drone were involved in the search.
Eugene Prins is in his mid-40’s, medium build, with dark hair and graying beard. Fridley says Prins was wearing khaki pants, a blue shirt, blue-gray flannel jacket and a stocking cap and wearing dark wire-rimmed glasses.
Fridley is asking residents between Woonoscket and Letcher to check their outbuildings and shelter belts for Prins.
