MLB

— Brice Turang hit a pair of two-run homers as the Milwaukee Brewers completed their first season sweep of the Washington Nationals with a 14-3 win. Milwaukee set a team record for a three-game series with 56 hits. The Brewers scored 60 runs in their six wins over the Nationals this season.
— Kyle Isbel had an RBI double in the 10th inning as the Kansas City Royals rallied to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-4.
— Freddie Freeman scored one run and drove in another to snap Los Angeles’ 18-inning scoreless drought to lead the Dodgers over the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0.
— Justin Turner hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning to give the Chicago Cubs a 5-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
— Kyle Stowers hit a three-run homer as the Miami Marlins completed the first sweep of the New York Yankees in franchise history a 7-3 win. The Marlins won all three games against the Yankees to reach .500 for the first time since April 15. They became the first major league team to go from 16 or more games under .500 to a .500 record since Tampa Bay in 2014.
— Cristopher Sánchez pitched eight shutout innings, while Kyle Schwarber hit his 38th homer as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Detroit Tigers 2-0. Philadelphia took two of three in the weekend series to move back into first place in the NL East, a half-game better than the Mets.

PGA
— Cameron Young made five straight birdies to lead by as many as nine shots for his first PGA Tour win at the Wyndham Championship. He shot 68 to win by six. The victory follows seven runner-up finishes on the PGA Tour. He becomes the 1,000th player to win a PGA Tour-recognized event.
NASCAR
— William Byron fought off fuel worries in the closing laps to win the NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday at Iowa Speedway. Byron went the last 144 laps of the 350-lap race without a stop en route to his second victory of the season — he won the Daytona 500 in February — and 15th overall. He also took the season points lead from Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott.
NBA
— Luka Doncic has agreed to a three-year, $165 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. Doncic is bypassing a chance at free agency next summer. The deal keeps Doncic with Los Angeles through 2028. The Lakers acquired Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks last February in a trade for Anthony Davis.
NFL
— Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones does not intend to trade Micah Parsons after the star defensive end said he wants to leave the team amid a breakdown in negotiating a contract extension. Parsons remains at training camp after writing on social media Friday to request a trade, where he has yet to practice because of a back injury.
— The NFL and ESPN are expected to announce an agreement that would give the league an equity stake in the sports network. People familiar with the transaction called it a multibillion-dollar deal. The NFL has been trying to sell its media properties for nearly five years. ESPN would gain access to the RedZone channel, NFL Network and additional games. ESPN plans to launch a direct-to-consumer service soon, offering access to all its programs for $29.99 per month.
— The Washington Commanders’ plan to return to the site of their former home at RFK Stadium has cleared another significant hurdle. The District of Columbia Council approved legislation on Friday, but it still needs a second approval before reaching Mayor Muriel Bowser. The Commanders, currently playing in Maryland, look to open a new venue by 2030. The ownership group has been exploring locations in Washington, Maryland and Virginia since buying the team in 2022. Congress transferred the RFK Stadium land to the city in January, paving the way for redevelopment.
WNBA
— A group led by Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca has reached a deal to buy the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun for a record $325 million and move the team to Boston. The franchise wouldn’t play in Boston until the 2027 season. Pagliuca also would contribute $100 million for a new practice facility in Boston for the team. The sale is pending approval of the league and its board of governors.
